Fall Desserts Prepped in Less Than 20 Minutes - Guaranteed!
To dessert or not to dessert - its always a dinner party debate. There are pros and cons to both options including some of the below:
Pros:
- You get to eat the leftovers
- Baking can be a family or group activity
- You can taste test ahead of time
- It can be prepped the day before
Cons:
- It takes time to gather extra ingredients
- It's more dishes to clean
- AND When (in the HECK) will you have time to bake the darn thing?
Desserts are one those few things in life that you may not want to prepare but, (in my opinion) it's rarely...if ever...regretted. We've all seen these images throughout social media telling us that this part of the meal has to be extravagant and elaborate but, why? They can be simple and sweet (literally) and designed to pair with the main dish - not steal its thunder.
Plus, you're guests will greatly appreciate you for giving them the opportunity to indulge.
Whether it comes to drop-in guests or a well planned dinner, convenience is always key. I'd like to challenge you and your closest pals to keep a shared Pinterest board of recipes that can be prepped in 20 minutes or less. If you want to get wild n' crazy, I also prefer less than 10 ingredients. Its a good excuse to get some good feedback and try reliable dishes that are actually easy to prepare. Then - you never have to panic when it comes to searching for ideas/options.
Some of the best seasonal desserts are all derived from "dump" recipes. I know - the name is so intriguing but, there is a reason for it! These ingredients are located in a standard pantry with a cake or brownie mix as the base. It can sometimes mean actually "dumping" ingredients into a bowl and throwing it into the oven. . For this reason, anytime there is a brownie or cake mix on sale (I aim for $1.00/mix) I load up on options. I've tried multiple versions of these recipes but have changed a few ingredients to make it extra wonderful! The good news is that it's hard to mess up these recipes which makes these sweet treats foolproof (almost). In my opinion, there is zero reason to debate dessert when it is just this simple!

*My favorite item to keep on hand for any dessert is cool-whip or a generic version of it. It stays in the freezers and can be thawed or frozen (I prefer frozen). It has the texture of a light and fluffy ice cream with WAY less calories. A 16 ounce container can run about $5.00 which is a bargain!*
