Walking in a Winter Foresty Wonderland

The RSVP Project got a job! So we got hired to do our first ever project for one of our very first followers (and very best friends).  My best friend Haley called me up a few weeks ago and said "I'm going all out for Christmas this year and I would love for you to decorate my dining room table." One of the things I love about working on something for a friend is that I know their taste (because I've been to their house) and can instantly get a feel for the look I am aiming to provide them.  After an afternoon of hitting up all of our favorite home decor spots, Erin and I came up with this Winter Foresty Wonderland Tablescape and we could not be more in love!

Her table is oval shaped with a slight gray wash and her chairs are off white with a tufted back.  The woodsy dining room Christmas tree and elegant crystal chandeliers brought it a bit of rustic but glamorous look to the room.

The first purchases we made were the mercury glass Christmas trees as our focal point. Two of them were from Homegoods for about $20 & $25 each.  We had to find the 3rd from Target (for $20) as Homegoods had sold out of a size we needed.

Next we were on the hunt for a tablerunner and greenery. We weren't loving the table runners that we were seeing at first but overall we knew that we wanted some greenery to lay across the top. The greenery, cranberry and pinecone picks were all purchased at Joann Fabrics. They have a HUGE selection so if you are looking for some great garland without a super fake look, that should be your spot! The garland we chose was a beautiful green color with faux snow. It didn't look too terribly fake and really tied in the white/green from her Christmas tree. It took 3 strands of garland (originally $30 each but we got them on sale) to cover her 72" in length table. Two strands were used to cover the length of the table and one strand was cut up to fill any holes. We added some cranberry picks and pinecone fillers to provide an additional pop of color and bring out the brown/wood tones in the room.

Nothing sets the mood like candlelight (in my opinion), so we wanted to make sure to add small glass votives and a couple of larger candles. It is hard to see in the photos but the large glass cylinders have a wooden bottom. Both the cylinders and pine-filled candles were purchased at Joann Fabrics as well.

While out shopping we could tell we were starting to gear more towards glam than rustic so we chose a plaid tablerunner to tone it down a bit. I'll admit we were a bit hesitant about the plaid, but OMG it totally made the look!

To integrate more silver, we incorporated some galvanized steel chargers with the gray plates. We cut up some of the cranberry picks and added a neutral napkin tied with twine to complete the place setting look. Our final touch was the stunning crystal glassware, because nothing says Christmas to me like using the fancy glasses. Ha!

It turned out to be better than we even imagined in our head. Haley was super pleased with our work and even stated that it makes her smile every time she walks by it. Mission accomplished! Thank you Haley for trusting us to design your Christmas tablescape, it was an absolute pleasure!
