Fall Desserts Prepped in Less Than 20 Minutes - Guaranteed!

Image
Fall Desserts Prepped in Less Than 20 Minutes - Guaranteed !  To dessert or not to dessert - its always a dinner party debate.  There are pros and cons to both options including some of the below: Pros: You get to eat the leftovers Baking can be a family or group activity You can taste test ahead of time It can be prepped the day before Cons: It takes time to gather extra ingredients It's more dishes to clean AND When (in the HECK) will you have time to bake the darn thing? Desserts are one those few things in life that you may not want to prepare but, (in my opinion) it's rarely...if ever...regretted. We've all seen these images throughout social media telling us that this part of the meal has to be ex travagant and elaborate but, why? They can be simple and sweet (literally) and designed to pair with the main dish - not steal its thunder. Plus, y ou're guests will greatly appreciate you for giving them the opportunity to indulge....

Fun Fall Themed Parties

Image
C hili Cook-Off Photo by Dara-Yakovleva on Pixabay As a kid I played lots of sports, which means my competitive spirit runs deep.  There is nothing I like more than a challenge. That’s why this fun fall-themed party is one of my favs. What's better than a delicious bowl of soup and some friendly competition to go with it?  And the best part? Your guests supply all the food! To help spice up your chili cook-off I've listed some fun, easy ways to bring your hosting A-game! Prizes Giving a prize always amps up the competitiveness. Even if it is ridiculous, guests will love it! It doesn't have to be expensive, in fact my sister hosts a chili cook-off every Halloween and she gives out wooden spoons.  You better believe I still have it and every time I reach in the drawer I am reminded that I got 3rd. Ugh! Lol. Be st chili gets a golden spoon. (Literally take a wooden spoon and spray paint it gold - it’s that easy!)  Most unique ingr...

D.I.Y Fireplace Scents That Will Make Your Home Smell Ah-Mazing Fall is here! I don’t know about you, but the only thing pulling me out of the depression of summer being over is the fact that I can throw on some leggings and do absolutely nothing next to a fire. My wood burning fireplace is one of my favorite features in my home.  There is nothing like the warmth and glow that comes from a fire. Even when a hand full of friends stop by, I make sure to always light the fireplace. It adds an extra touch and really sets the tone for a relaxing evening.   One unique way you can make your home more inviting is to add some scent to your fireplace. The aromas when mixed with some delicious fall candles… YUM!   Below are some DIY fireplace scents you can make at home that are not only lovely to smell but also chemical free!  Photo by  Stephanie Studer  on  Unsplash Dried Orange Peels 1. Falling into Football Season with "Interactive" Food Stations

Image
Falling into Football Season with "Interactive" Food Stations Fall is just around the corner and I can literally smell it. I’m getting whiffs of chili, falling leaves, pumpkin spice, and shots of Fireball (obviously). Along with fall comes the start of a new football season. For my home, it means lots of visitors who would never leave unless we lost electricity or I stopped feeding them…. When I first moved in with my husband, I imagined that our autumn weekends would be filled skipping around the apple orchard or sipping cider after a long day of antiquing. Over time I developed a new appreciation for game day because I looked forward to having our friends and family to our home!  The best part about hosting is that you don’t need to concentrate on just one activity like staring at a television all day. There are several ways to get your guests moving around and interacting with one another. By having "interactive" food, it  can make a world of differe...

About Erin

Image
“ Creativity is contagious” – Albert Einstein My name is Erin Hunter and this quote reminds me how much I loved creating, writing, and sharing with you! I live in a town of Indianapolis that is known to be progressive, artistic, and very accepting of any type of person! I truly love where I live!  I've always been consumed with a career focused in health care. I was a bedside nurse for 8 years and I've slowly transitioned into the corporate world. I always consider my true passion to be people and the world of creativity but, I was not allowed to go to an art school because my parents wanted me to be exposed to "lots of opportunity."   Therefor, this blog is an outlet for my right sided, never resting mind. I'm always thinking of the next Pinterest project, photo opportunity, craft, and so on.   My home is well lived in by my husband Morgan and our two pups, Otis and Hank. We have an “open door” policy at our house meaning that anyone is welcome who ne...
